The” Earth Dancer” series originated with this beautiful sculpture that is hollow at the front with the two arms merging at the front like a shell.  “Earth Dancer” was originally designed to place a little pot of ferns in, so as the fonds spill out over the sides framing the sculpture from the back. The way the shoulder merges into the bowl at the front feels like the protective wing of an angel gently guarding the earth, in perfect harmony with nature…which is why this sculpture is called Earth Dancer: - as it is an expression of feeling the earth’s song with its pulsing heartbeat as our own.

This series of work is symbolic of the potential of our minds if we have the courage to not simply confine our understanding of life, energy, healing health, and the universe to popular socially accepted thought. The  “Inner Vision” Series is symbolic of freedom of our minds, - a freedom only we can claim ourselves through owning our individual experiences in life, having the courage to explore new paths, following our own truth and not letting anyone tell us what to think, - as that is freedom given away not taken.

I was going to title this series of work 42 but I didn’t.
These classically beautiful series of sculptures are designed to have a lush, beautiful fern/bonsai/ mini rose, cactus (it all depends on the sculpture) growing in the hollowed form that is incorporated into this sculpture as part of the design.  Every sculpture in the Hortisculpture series is an individually sculpted original and are endless in variety and style. I have a bit of a passion for these sculptures, as when combined with the right plant that brings out the personality of these sculptural  “portraits”, they become living, growing, works of art that can easily transform into stunning indoor sculptural features. I often work from photographs with these sculptures and also do commissions for  “Horticultural Portraits” using supplied photographs as the inspiration for the design.
